|This update is a few months late, but better late than never, I guess. This was from my 3rd or 4th forging session. A while back, I reverted the suspension on my 2006 Subaru Forester from Coil overs to stock-style suspension. The springs I ordered were boxed wrong on the website, but I had exceeded the return window. I didn't find out they were the wrong springs until I had them on the car. The rear end sat an inch and a half low. Shortly after, I installed some King off road springs, and these went into my spare parts bin for a year. I decided to cut them up and use the metal to make knives. The two knives shown here were made from a half coil. The top one is Kody's throwing knife, and the bottom is a Tanto knive I started.|
|Here's a bit more progress from a week after the above knife. The knife on the left is a stainless knife I bought years ago. I attempted to harden it, but it doesn't seem to have worked. The center one is a bit of a re-profile of the above knife. The handle was drawn out, as well as the blade. And the right side is the re-profiled Rasp knife from the last knife post. I lengthened the handle and thinned the whole thing out.|
More to come.
