Gregoire, the owner, I sat down and talked with him for an hour or so. He runs Boxeer.com, which is a shop based out of Nashville, TN, that specializes in Diesel conversions for a variety of vehicles. This 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon uses the Volkswagen 2.0L TDI engine, but the shop also does Subaru Boxer Diesel engine conversions as well. . |

Thanks to my friend, Sam, I've developed an interest in these Vanagons, and tend to notice them more. It's not often you see a Vanagon with it's pop-top tent opened. . |

In my talk with the owner, he told me he drove from his shop in Tennessee, down to South America and back, stopping off in Colorado on the way back so he could run his prepped Beetle at the Hillclimb races. He was in town visiting family for the 4th. I'm so glad I went to the meet that night, and was able to meet this guy. Follow him on Instagram here. Thanks for reading. Please, check back often for more, share this post, and checn kout my social media pages linked to the upper left. -Phil |
