Car Spotlight: Jaguar Mk. II

A few years back, I played a video game on PC called "GT Legends". In this game, you would drive classic racing cars in Touring Car races in the 60's and 70's. One of the cars you could drive in the game, and, rather conveniently, my favorite car from the game, was the Mk.2 Jag.

.

The Mk.2 Jag was a gorgeous car. I'd dare say that I like this better than the E-type. That's right, Clarkson....I think the Mk.2 looks better than the E-type.

.

The Mk.2 shared the 3.8L inline 6 with the early E-types.

.

With it's decent power output at the time, it's relatively low weight, room for 5 adults, large boot and sleek looks, the Mk.2 was quite popular with criminals...and the British police.

.

I love the woodgrain dash, shift knob and steering wheel in this car. I feel like this is the kind of car you have to drive while wearing a pair of those brown leather knuckle-less driving gloves. I know I would.

.

This car was fun to shoot, and nice to look at. For other posts from the Mad Dogs and Englishmen show at the Gilmore Car Museum, check my other recent posts out.

Thanks for reading, and be sure to share this post, read my others, and check back often for more.
