Car Spotlight: 1960 Ford Falcon Gasser

I've seen several Gasser builds on Speedhunters, and have come to love that style of drag car. The whole concept in a Gasser was to increase traction at launch by raising the front end, which, in theory, puts more weight over the rear axle.

.

This is one of the nicest Falcon's I've seen in the last few years. I overheard the owner talking to someone at the meet I saw this at. He said it was just finished being built. It certainly looks like it.

.

I love the Gasser stance. It doesn't work on all cars, but it certainly works on this car.

.

The Mooneye's tank mounted on the front bumper is a nice touch. I'm not sure if it is used for fuel, or if it's for a different purpose, like coolant, oil or otherwise.

.

It's interesting to see harneses like this with Bench seats. I'm not sure how well they would hold you in a race, but I'd imagine it would be better than just a lap belt.

.

I'm not sure what engine this is, but I'm fairly sure it's bigger than the 4.3L V8 it came with.
