Car Feature: 1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster Custom

Some cars are so common, they don't catch my eye at shows or meets. Things like newer Challengers, Camaros, GTO's, etc. Other cars catch my eye immediately. This 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline is one such car. This car is gorgeous.  It sits low, it's got the perfect amount of chrome, and it just looks like something a 1950's Gangster would drive around in.

This car originally came with the very common 216 Inline 6 engine. They used it in pretty much everything at the time. But this one has an LT1 V8 out of a C4 Corvette in place of the tired 6-cylinder.

10 years ago, I wouldn't have given this car a second look because it is American. And, for the longest time, I was under the impression that all American cars were garbage, based on the American cars I had owned. But, to be fair, judging America's Automotive history based on a High Mileage Dodge Dynasty, Plymouth Acclaim and Chevrolet Lumina is like Judging the entire Star Wars movie series on Episode 1.
