Paddock Pass: Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix - IMSA Sports Car Championship

I've always wanted to see Prototype cars race. This year, I got to see that. Some of the coolest looking race cars there are.

You all know I love the Porsche 911, so you can guess I was pretty excited when I saw this. There were two nearly identical 911's running during the race.

This BMW had a pretty cool livery.

This Lexus, which you may have seen in my photos from the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This car had one of the best exhaust notes of any car that race weekend.
This video showcases that sound pretty well. (Not my own video):

This Cadillac DPi-V.R #90 was a great looking car. We were sitting beside the spotter for this team for a minute at turn 5.

This Tequila-Patron Nissan-Onroak DPi race car had my favorite livery in the IMSA Weathertech race. (photo credit:Gannon Engels)

This Acura NSX had a pretty cool livery. Not even sure what it's all about, though.

The one and only Ferrari in the lineup was looking pretty awesome in the Weathertech livery.

This awesome AMG GTS was the other car that had an amazing exhaust note. (Video below is not my own)

One of the Mazda prototypes was undergoing some pre-race checks here. The car looks crazy without the nose on.

This Lamborghini Huracan, one of the loudest IMSA cars on the track, was cool to watch.

This car, if I'm not mistaken, took the win for the weekend.

Team Penske had a great showing, running 2 Acura's. These cars have such a cool livery.

This Ligier LMP, for Core motorsports, didn't seem like it was running right the whole race. It sounded like it was down on power.
