Car Spotlight: 1987 Pontiac fiero GT

The Fiero has the pleasure, or, maybe more accurately, misfortune, of being known as the "Poor-Mans Ferrari". A recent video from David Patterson, aka ThatDudeInBlue, explains why the Fiero got it's bad reputation. But...this one is special.

.

Originally, the fiero GT came with a 2.8L V-6 engine. This one has had the 2.8L removed...

.

In favor of the legendary Supercharged 3800 Series 3.

.

The Fiero isn't known to have a really nice interior or paint. This one, however, is the cleanest example I've ever seen. EVER.

.

The interior is right out of the 1980's, with obvious parts-bin parts, and 90 degree angles everywhere.

.

You might have noticed the giant scoop on the engine cover...I asked the owner about it. He told me it's not for engine air intake, but rather for engine bay cooling. The scoop sits directly above the supercharger, and is held on with DZUS fasteners.

That'll do it for today. Take a look at, and subscribe to my social media pages, share my posts, leave a comment, and check back often for more content.
