Car Spotlight: IMSA-spec 2nd-generation Camaro Z28

This past weekend was a good weekend for car events. I took my dad to the Gilmore Car Museum on Saturday, and had Cars and Coffee on Sunday. While at Cars and Coffee, I heard about a car show happening at Shaheen Chevrolet. I do enjoy car shows, so I thought I'd go check it out.

.

As I walked into the show, this car was the first thing I noticed. At first glance, however, I thought it was a normal 2nd-generation Z28 Camaro. But upon closer inspection....I realized my mistake.

.

Much like a Stock Car, there isn't much left of the original Camaro here. The hood was open, revealing the Engine (Sadly, I'm not sure on the specs), built by local engine builder "Pierce Race Engines", and the tubular chassis up front.

.

The gutted and caged interior, the gauges, and switches were another indicator that this car wasn't normal.

.

Anytime you see a car with a single seat like this, and a safety net on either side, you know it's not meant for the road. This car is purely meant for the track.

.

I'm not sure how many people agree with me, but I think that the 2nd generation Camaro's are the coolest. But I also love cars that most people consider ugly or obscure.

.

Gold Steelies on a red car, especially on a vintage track car, is a timeless look. I don't think it'll ever look bad.

.

This was just one of the awesome cars I saw at the Shaheen show. Stay tuned for more upcoming content this week.
