From the archives: 2015 Detroit Gran Prix

I was going through a bunch of my old photos tonight, trying to free up some much needed hard drive space when I found my folder from the 2015 detroit Gran Prix. I looked through them and realized that, while they were posted to Facebook, they weren't edited.

So, here are a few of what I think are the best photos from the day.

This K-Pax Racing McLaren 650S GT3, driven by Kevin Estre ran in the Pirelli World Challenge series.

This Cadillac ATS-V.R, driven by Johnny O'Connell ran in the Cadillac V-series challenge and Pirelli World Challenge Series races this weekend. This car sounded absolutely amazing.

This Corvette Daytona Prototype driven by Dane Cameron and Eric Curran finished first in the Prototype Class for the United SportsCar Championship races.

This car, a Honda-powered Andretti Autosport Dallara DW12 driven by Carlos Munoz, was out of the race with mechanical issues after 5 laps.

Here, Scott Dixon in a Terget-Liveried, Chevrolet-powered Dallara DW12 from Chip Ganassi Racing throws up a big plume of spray from the wet track. Dixon finished in 20th.

Having never been to an open wheel event (unless the F2000 race at Road Atlanta before Formula Drift back in 2013 counts), I was enjoying myself...apart from being drenched head to toe, and cold. Still, It was fun to watch. Here is driver Jack Hawksworth in Car #41, another Honda-powered Dallara DW12 from A.J. Foyt Enterprises. Hawksworth finished 7th overall.

One of the more eye-catching cars on track was the #28 Honda-powered Dallara DW12, driven by Ryan Hunter-Reay of Andretti Autosport. He finished 8th overall.

And finally, here is Scott Dixon and Juan Pablo Montoya battling it out into turn 1.

I'm trying to get caught up on my photo backlog, so expect to see some event coverage from more than 5 months ago.
Keep checking back for more content!
