Today, Black Friday, is a rather exciting day for me, as well as petrolheads everywhere. And not only because of the deals at major retailers. Honestly, I have no interest in the sales. I shop on Amazon anyway. What I am interest in, though, is the new episode of the Grand Tour, also on Amazon.
This week, they just outside of Johannesburg, South Africa, in an area known as the Cradle of Mankind. A place, according to archaeologists, where humans made the next step in evolution from Ape to Man.
They started the show out by a bit of friendly ribbing of the South African President, followed by Clarkson reviewing, as only Clarkson can, the Aston Martin Vulcan, which sounds incredible. It's 7.0L V-12 makes a noise that can only be described as music. Perhaps the best sounding car....in the world.
After Clarksons review, they handed the keys over to NASCAR driver Mike Skinner, who, predictably, talked alot of crap about the non-american Vulcan, all the while setting a rather impressive lap around the test track.
Next, they were sent to Jordan, to a mock town, built for special forces training, for a competition between special forces. And, as you would imagine, as with any such challenge involving Clarkson, Hammond and May, hilarity ensues.
Overall, I loved it!
