Hmm....Electric Cars...

5 years ago, you would never, ever hear me utter the phrase "That Electric car is Awesome", "I really want that hybrid" or even "I think the hybrid version looks better". But lately, that's changing. Companies like McLaren, Ferrari, Acura, Lexus and Tesla are making Eco-friendly cars that actually look awesome.

The McLaren P1 boasts north of 900hp and is Stunning to look at. The same can be said of the Porsche 918 and the Ferrari LaFerrari. Even the new Acura NSX is a thing of beauty.

And Tesla's Model S P85D, bosting nearly 700hp, AWD performance and an "insane" launch control system that pins you to the back of your seat.

Even Lexus, with their "h" cars are nice to look at. The ct200h, while just a prius underneath, is a sporty looking hatchback that I wouldn't be ashamed to be seen in.

My Subaru, with it's 4-cyl engine and 21mpg average, starts to seem wasteful compared to the likes of the aforementioned cars the more I read up on them. Even my friends Supercharged C5 Corvette boasts 23 - 25mpg average.

So my point is this: I'm not opposed to owning a hybrid or electric car in the future. I would like nothing more than to be making enough money to have a Tesla Model S P85D as my daily and a McLaren P1-GTR as my fun car. But since I'm not in the same line of work as such people as Joel Zimmerman (aka. Deadmau5), who owns both a P85D and a P1-GTR, I can't exactly afford payments on either.
In fact, the only one of the aforementioned cars I could afford right now is a 4-year old or older second hand Prius...and that isn't happening. No thanks.
